Polish passport photo

Poland's gov.pl portal publishes the photo rules for passport documents: a colour photo 35 mm wide x 45 mm high (at least 492 x 610 pixels), taken within the last 6 months on a uniform light, evenly lit background, showing the whole head to the upper shoulders with the face covering 70-80% of the photo, eyes open with pupils clearly visible and eyebrows visible, a natural expression and closed mouth, facing straight ahead with the eye line horizontal. No head covering (religious exception with a certificate, face oval and ear line visible), no dark glasses, no red-eye. This tool crops and checks your photo on your device - nothing is uploaded.

Checked against the official sources below on 7 Nov 2026.

Sources checked November 2026: the gov.pl photo guide for ID cards and passports and the gov.pl passport photo specification, which states the dimensions as 35 mm (width) x 45 mm (height) with a minimum resolution of 492 x 610 pixels. Beard and jewelry are allowed if they do not hinder identification; ears do not need to be visible.

Children under 5: the gov.pl guide accepts closed eyes, an open mouth or an unnatural expression for them; the face must be uncovered (no hair or toy over it), the head held straight, on a light uniform background with no other people in frame. The same exceptions apply at any age when a health condition prevents meeting the standard requirements. This tool's checks and guides follow the adult rules, so confirm a child's photo against these allowances yourself.

How to do it
  1. Take a colour photo against a white, evenly lit background, facing the camera straight on.
  2. Keep a natural expression, mouth closed, eyes open with pupils visible.
  3. Upload below, frame the face to cover about 70-80% of the height, and create the file.
  4. Confirm every checklist line, download, and print at 35 x 45 mm.
