Custom photo size for any form
Government portals differ, and some - like India's state RTOs - customise the national rules. When a form gives you its own numbers (for example '400 x 514 px, under 50 KB'), set them here and get exactly that JPEG.
The official requirements
| How it works | Set the target width and height in pixels and the allowed file-size range in KB. The tool crops to that aspect, resizes, and adjusts JPEG quality to fit, raising quality up to the maximum when a minimum size is set. It never pads files: if a genuine encode cannot reach the minimum, it says so. |
|---|---|
| Where to find the numbers | In the portal's upload instructions or in the error message it shows when a file is rejected. |
1. Set the required numbers
Changing a value resets the tool below.
2. Make the file
This page covers the file mechanics only. The framing rules (head size, background, expression) still come from the authority you are applying to - follow their photo guidance.
How to do it
- Find the required pixels and KB limits in your form's instructions or error message.
- Enter them below, upload your photo, and frame it.
- Create the file, confirm the checklist matches your numbers, download.
Common questions
The portal still rejects my file - why?
Some portals also check aspect ratio to the pixel, enforce a minimum KB, or reject files with camera metadata. This tool strips metadata and always saves genuine JPEG quality; if it still fails, send us the exact error text.
