PAN card signature image for online application
Alongside the photo, a DSC-based PAN application needs a signature image of 2 x 4.5 cm at 200 DPI - 354 x 157 pixels - as a JPEG of at most 10 KB. Sign on white paper, photograph or scan it, and crop it to the ink below - on your device, nothing is uploaded.
The official requirements
| Dimensions | 2 x 4.5 cm at 200 DPI = 354 x 157 px |
|---|---|
| File format | JPEG (the instruction lists the signature as a colour scan) |
| File size | 10 KB maximum |
| Ink | Dark pen on plain white paper, your own signature (standard practice; the instruction specifies only size, type and format) |
Checked against the official sources below on 7 Nov 2026.
The numbers come from Protean's official DSC-based PAN application instruction (checked November 2026): 200 DPI, JPEG, 10 KB maximum, 2 x 4.5 cm, which at 200 DPI is exactly 354 x 157 px.
10 KB is a hard cap at a very small size. Crop tightly to the ink and use a clean white sheet; this tool exports at the highest genuine quality under the cap and never pads.
How to do it
- Sign with a dark pen on plain white paper.
- Photograph or scan the signature in good light.
- Upload below, crop tightly to the ink, and create the file - exactly 354 x 157 px, under 10 KB.
- Download and attach it as the signature in your online PAN application.
