India e-Visa photo
The Indian e-Visa application accepts a square JPEG photo between 10 KB and 1 MB. The rule page specifies the square shape and file weight rather than exact pixels. This tool gives you a square 900 x 900 px JPEG comfortably inside the range - and under the regular visa form's tighter 300 KB cap too.
The official requirements
| File format | JPEG (.jpg) |
|---|---|
| File size | 10 KB minimum, 1 MB maximum |
| Shape | Height and width must be equal (square) |
| Pixels | Not stated on the e-Visa rule page; the regular visa portal's range is 350-1000 px, which this file also satisfies |
| Background | Plain light-coloured or white, no shadows |
| Other rules | Full face, front view, eyes open, no spectacles; full head from top of hair to bottom of chin |

If you end up on the regular (sticker) visa form instead of the e-Visa, its limit is tighter: 300 KB maximum. This tool's output passes both.
How to do it
- Take a photo against a plain light or white background, facing the camera.
- Upload it below and frame the head between the guide lines.
- Create the file and check that size and format pass.
- Download and upload it to your e-Visa application.
Common questions
How is the e-Visa photo different from the regular visa photo?
Same square shape, but the e-Visa allows up to 1 MB while the regular form caps at 300 KB. This tool stays under 300 KB so the file works for either.
